I will be the first to admit that my skincare routine is nonexistent. I use a makeup wipe remover wipe each night, and that’s about it. Sometimes, I use a moisturizer. Sometimes, when I think the wrinkles in my forehead look extreme, I use a retinol cream that I bought while I was in Mexico. And that is about it. (UPDATE: As of 2022, I jumped on the Botox bandwagon for my forehead and crow’s feet. It is fantastic!)
Therefore, I shouldn’t be surprised that my skin is awful. As someone over the age of 40, I still suffer from a breakout along my chin line every so often, suffer from blackheads, and the worst of it being acne scars and sun spots. I have tried to use concealer and regular makeup, but they have never provided enough coverage.
I do what I do best; I started researching different options and came across a YouTube video (this was years ago, so my apologies that I can’t tag the YouTube influencer) sharing the full coverage option of Double Wear Maximum Cover Camouflage Foundation for Face and Body. It looked amazing, so I had to try it immediately.
I usually purchase the foundation from Macy’s when there is a promotion for free Estee Lauder sample products with a purchase. Lately, Macy’s hasn’t had it in stock in the stores (or at least at the store in my town), so I have had to order it online.
The foundation is not as thick as I anticipated; however, to ensure I get the most out of a tube, I squeeze the foundation onto the top of a plastic cap (not the cap to the foundation but another cap that is a little bit wider). Why? Previously, I have felt the makeup gets stuck in my makeup brush, and then the majority of it doesn’t end up on my face, so I think this approach helps.
Once I put the dabs of makeup on my face from the plastic cap, I use my makeup brush and start blending it. Because the foundation provides so much coverage, you don’t need much of it.
While it provides a lot of coverage, it doesn’t feel heavy on the face, and one of its best parts is that it lasts. By the end of the workday, it is still providing my face coverage. They state it has 24-hour staying power, and while I haven’t tried it, I am guessing it is accurate.
