Woof! Woof! It’s me….Rudy again! Today, I am here to talk about carriers – and I have a lot to say about them as my human mom has tried A LOT of them. I have three carriers for three specific purposes: (1) Airplane travel, (2) Hiking/Walking far distances (I have little legs!), and (3) Strolling and shopping.
I will start with the airplane bag, as it is my favorite. I am so thankful my mom found a masculine-looking carrier for me. People have been stopped several times at the airport, wondering where my mom bought it. I feel pretty stylish in it.
The carrier fits perfectly under the seat of an airplane, which is not my favorite place to be. I wish the top of the bag had mesh to see my mom more easily when I was under the seat. It has a fuzzy bottom that is comfortable and removable to be cleaned easier. When I was a puppy, my mom put a puppy pad in there just in case I had an accident, but I never did. A big pocket on one end of the bag that mom uses for puppy pads, dog wipes, my leash, and treats. The other end of the bag opens up for easy access for me to get in and out of the bag.
My mom is so cool that she adds a patch to my airplane bag each time I take a trip to someplace with her. So far, I have patches from Colorado, Denver, Minnesota, Vail, and Mexico. I look forward to adding more patches to my bag in the coming years.
How does she attach them to my bag? She doesn’t have sewing skills, so she uses a fabric super glue, which works great.
This is a fantastic bag, and I HIGHLY recommend it. Four paws (the maximum number I have) are way up in the air for this carrier! Do your furry baby a favor and buy this carrier.
I look forward to seeing you traveling soon. I am often at the airport as I love flying. So many people on the plane love seeing a puppy on board. Look for me in First Class and say hi!
My human mom enjoys hiking and walking; lucky for me, she likes to take me along. While I love walking, I have little legs and tire easily, so having a backup plan is essential. To help me out, my mom bought a backpack designed for smaller dogs.
I had the opportunity to travel with my mom to Mexico in 2020 for a month, and it was AMAZING and BOUJEE! I flew in the airplane bag I discussed above, and she also brought the backpack with me. I thought I would become Instagram famous because so many people were taking my picture in the backpack while mom shopped downtown.
The main form of transportation on the island of Isla Mujeres, Mexico, is golf carts, so my mom used my backpack as my car seat in the golf cart. She attached the backpack to the golf cart in two different places to ensure I was secured and always tethered to the inside of the backpack. Then I would add my Doggles, which happened to match the color of our golf cart, and I was ready to roll. As you can tell from the photo, I reached a new level of coolness. I loved seeing everyone’s reaction to my coolness.
I would give this backpack four paws high up in the air. It is comfortable for both mom and me and provides enough additional storage for mom to bring along the other stuff she needs when hiking. It is an excellent backpack for pets who weigh up to 25 lbs. I still have some space to do more eating.
We have yet to use the next carrier often as mom leans towards the backpack for strolling and shopping. When we visited Denver for a long weekend staycation, we used the sling carrier for the first time. It is pretty stylish, and we were stopped twice to inquire where Mom had bought it.
It also has a tether inside the bag to keep me in place. The one thing missing from the bag is a hard bottom. While the description states there is a hard bottom, more is needed. I struggled to get comfortable in the bag and felt a little squished.
I enjoyed being closer to the action than on Mom’s back; I could see her (and what she was eating) more easily. Of course, other people could see my cuteness easier as well.
Mom doesn’t find the bag as comfortable as the backpack. However, this bag is really for a more casual, quick outing. There are a lot of pockets for mom’s wallet, cell phone, and treats. It is a good balance of function and styling without shouting from the rooftop that I am a BOUJEE dog.
Since we are still getting used to this bag, I will only give it two paws in the air. I may think differently about it in the future, but it isn’t my favorite bag right now.
If you want a stylish and functional bag, this is for you and your furry baby. Give it a try, and let us know what you think. Have your fur baby woof me at Rudy@beingboujee.com.
