GO AHEAD, TAP THAT CLASS

I haven’t had the chance to travel by plane with my human mom for a long time. She often refers to me as being big boned and that I was supposed to be smaller than my current 17 lbs body. Rumor has it my brothers have remained small (under 5 lbs full-grown), but I have taken on the “beefy” role.

Anyway,  at 17 lbs, I guess I can be a lot for my mom to carry through the airport, and I don’t fit as easily into my carrier as I once did, so I don’t get to fly as often as my mom anticipated. With that said, I have a special relationship with my Gma Rita in MN and she hasn’t been feeling great lately so mom wanted to make sure I had the opportunity to have a special Christmas with her in 2023, so I got to fly to Minnesota. This gave me the idea to rate airport pet relief areas for those traveling with their human parents/friends.

Pet Relief Areas

There are several pet relief areas in Terminal 1. Prior to security, there are pet relief areas outside of Door 1 and Door 4 on the baggage claim level. There is also a pet relief area outside of the Silver parking ramp. Or if you are like my human mom who rented a car, she allowed me to pee on a random parking ramp column before entering the airport.

Once you are past security, there are multiple pet relief areas. I used the pet relief area near the entrance of Concourse E. However, there are also relief areas by gate F6 and on the C/G connector bridge.

Mom said the room smelled like dogs; well, of course, it would, as thousands of dogs have peed or pooped there! I thought it was a great relief areacleaning and, mom appreciated having a sink in the space.  There is a unique cleaning system that your human starts when you are done to clean the relief area.

Mom visited a friend in Delaware, and I was lucky to make the trip with her. The pet relief area at the airport is typical of other airports.

This pet area is equipped with artificial grass, waste disposal bags, and a hose for quick cleanup, creating a clean and sanitary space for us to relieve ourselves. The area is not only easy to find but also clearly marked, making it a hassle-free stop for our human owners making their way through the airport. Plus, there are enough unique smells there to waste at least 10 minutes of your human’s time!
