Red soles are a definite sign of luxury and boujeeness (yes, it is a made-up word we love). We LOVE red soles, but DANG, those stiletto heels look incredibly tall and uncomfortable! Here at BEING BOUJEE, we are already tall, with the average height in our office being 5’11, so we don’t necessarily need the additional height provided by heels. Therefore, trying the sneakers might better fit us – in more ways than one.
Christian Louboutin (sounds like Kris • chuhn • loo • buh • taan) Brand History: Louboutin was born in Paris, France, and ran away from home in his early teen years, which is when he also started sketching shoes.
His little formal training included drawing and the decorative arts at the Académie d’Art Roederer. Louboutin says his fascination with shoes began in 1976 when he visited the Musée National des Arts d’Afrique et d’Océanie.
While there, he saw a sign from Africa forbidding women wearing sharp stilettos from entering a building for fear of damage to the extensive wood flooring. The image stayed in his mind, and he later used this idea in his designs. “I wanted to defy that,” Louboutin said. “I wanted to create something that broke rules and made women feel confident and empowered.” Hey, we here at BEING BOUJEE feel ya, Mr. Louboutin! Christian Louboutin became an apprentice to Charles Jourdan and, through that experience, met Roger Vivier, who claims to have invented the stiletto heel *insert various cuss words here* and worked under him as well. Eventually, he went to work for himself and set up his company in 1991, which was the same year he opened his first store in Paris. In 2011, Christian Louboutin became the most searched shoe brand online.

Christian Louboutin shoes are sold in half sizes. Therefore, you can get the size that fits you best – unlike Golden Goose shoes, which are only sold in whole sizes.
Are the shoes comfortable? No. At least not yet. I have worn them multiple times, hoping that each time I wear them, they break in a little more – but it hasn’t been successful yet, so I hardly wear them. I want to love them. I love them because they have the iconic red soles, but I don’t LOVE them in a way that I would wear them daily. That said, every time I wear them, I get at least one or two compliments. Women often refer to them as the shark tooth sneakers. I guess they have that look to them.
Will I avoid buying another pair of red sole-bottom sneakers? Definitely no! I am excited to try another pair that is more of a casual shoe, as these are referred to as running shoes – which I suggest you avoid doing in these sneakers!
Are they worth the money? This specific pair of Christian Louboutin sneakers sells for $945. It is a little steep, from my perspective. However, if you buy them once, you will have them for the rest of your life. I am happy with my purchase and have been considering ordering a new pair of Christian Louboutin sneakers because, look how cute these new sneakers are….. we need them!
How to order: These shoes may not be my favorite sneakers. However, I like having them in my closet to wear every so often. They are not everyday sneakers for me, but they could be for someone else. You should try them yourself! You can order the sneakers here.
